Ministerial visit: spotlight on technical professionals
On November 3rd, we had the honor of welcoming Minister Karien van Gennip (Social Affairs and Employment) and Jacco Vonhof, Chairman of MKB-Nederland. They kicked off their tour leading up to the "Day of the Entrepreneur" at our company—a great opportunity to engage in conversation about our business, our people, and the challenges facing the technical sector.

Shortage of technicians: finding solutions together
During the discussion, we shared how we actively work to attract technical talent. Our approach includes close collaboration with vocational and applied science schools, positioning ourselves as an attractive employer, and working with specialized recruiters who connect skilled professionals – including status holders and individuals receiving unemployment benefits – with technical roles. The Minister encouraged us to also reach out to asylum centers (AZCs), where technically skilled talent might be found.
Valuable conversations with the minister
Following the roundtable, the Minister took time to speak directly with our employees. This led to meaningful and insightful exchanges – both personal and professional – not surprisingly, as Van Gennip herself is a trained physicist. The visit concluded with a wonderful compliment: “Thank you – companies like yours are the backbone of our economy and society.” A strong recognition of the craftsmanship and dedication of our team!
